Summary:
Objectives:
To replicate a project that has been carried out by the above-mentioned Portuguese entity for several years and in different Portuguese cities with the aim of empowering and valuing the knowledge of older women, stimulating emotional ties and self-esteem. The project consists of a programme of 12 sewing sessions where 10 women will learn to transform and recycle their own garments (or other second-hand garments of their choice).
Phases of the project:
1. Needs assessment:
The specific needs of Zaragoza will be considered in order to replicate the workshops: identification of spaces; other resources or entities with which to collaborate that work with second-hand clothes; types of the participants, etc.
2. Training of monitors/facilitators:
Virtual and face-to-face training of 4 workers (2 from the Isabel Martín Foundation and 2 from Hacer Creativo) to learn the methodology and everything related to the workshops: selection of participants, preparation of the work space, materials for the sessions, how to address the target public, upcycling methods to be used, etc.
The training consists of four virtual sessions and a 3-day face-to-face training in Porto.
3. Search and registration of the 10 participants:
This will be done using the users of EntreMujeres and EntreMayores.
4. Implementation of the workshops:
The implementation will consist of 12 sewing sessions (to be held at the Hacer Creativo facilities), 2 photography sessions (before and after) and a final fashion show.
They will be complemented by activities of Espacio EntreMujeres.
5. Evaluation:
Final evaluation report including social and environmental aspects.
