Protagonists

Overview

Multi-year project part of the Creative Handicrafts’ social programme providing support to different educational centres:

– Nursery: created for the children of working mothers or those who are training in the cooperatives. Open to children aged 6 m. o. – 16 y. o. Adequate food, play, rest and school support.
– Child Development Centre (Bal Vikas Kendra): caters for children who come from a community traditionally engaged in begging. Through this project, they are provided with spaces to study, nutritious meals and educational assistance to ensure their regular school attendance and all-round development, paving the way for them to emerge from their difficult situation.
– Pre-school centres (Balwadis): children (3-5 years) from slums and tribal communities are provided with pre-school education, after which they are enrolled in schools at the appropriate age. They are also provided with a nutritious meal every day.
