Goals

Training young farmers in organic farming for the social improvement of the community to curb migration and school drop-out rates and to enable families to become self-sufficient in a context of respect for the environment.

Beneficiaries

60 young student leaders from the San Isidro Centre and the population of Mizque and neighbouring communities, 60 farming families from 4 communities in Mizque 35 farmer leaders in seven communities in the Quinta Pampa district of the Municipality of Chayanta.

Overview

Having identified the need to implement theoretical and practical training based on agro-ecological principles and philosophy, the project implementation includes:

– Activities aimed at training farmers (men and women) to improve their economic and social conditions through the production and consumption of healthy and nutritious food.

– Raising awareness and motivating students about the importance of the care and management of natural resources and the production and consumption of local and organic food.

– Strengthening and accompaniment of associated producer leaders and improvement of agroforestry plots.
